Brandon McNary, OSCP

Senior Staff Software Engineer at MyVest

Brandon McNary has a strong background in software engineering and project management. Brandon began their career at Citco Fund Services, where they quickly advanced from Junior Analyst to Project Manager. In this role, they analyzed large amounts of accounting data, oversaw data transfers, and designed and built reports for auditing and financial decision-making purposes. Brandon also managed onboarding and report building for major Private Equity funds.

After leaving Citco, Brandon joined H.I.G. Capital as a Project Manager, where they contributed to various projects for the company. Following their time at H.I.G. Capital, they worked as a Contract Software Engineer at Wexus Technologies, Inc. Here, they managed a team of engineers and contributed to the development of a web application optimizing renewable energy resources. Brandon also successfully migrated a non-relational database to PostgreSQL and built an API for data analysis.

Brandon's most recent role was as a Senior Staff Software Engineer at MyVest, where they leveraged their expertise to contribute to the development of software solutions.

Throughout their career, Brandon has demonstrated strong technical skills, project management expertise, and a dedication to maintaining high-quality standards through test-driven development and unit test coverage.

Brandon McNary, OSCP, holds a Master's degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Machine Learning & Computing Systems from the Georgia Institute of Technology, which they obtained from 2017 to 2021. Brandon also completed a program in JavaScript at Hack Reactor in 2014. Furthermore, they received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a focus on Finance from Indiana University - Kelley School of Business from 2006 to 2010.

In terms of additional certifications, Brandon has obtained the Network+ certification from CompTIA in February 2017. Brandon also holds the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification, which they achieved in September 2016. In addition, they have completed several courses through Code School, including Front End Foundations, Anatomy of Backbone.js, CSS Cross-Country, Journey Into Mobile, Real Time with NodeJS, and Shaping Up With AngularJS.
