John Lovette is a skilled GIS Analyst with extensive experience in geospatial information management. Currently serving at the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission since January 2020, John enhances critical administrative programs through geospatial solutions. Prior to this role, John worked at ORAU, focusing on the development and curation of geospatial data for the US EPA EnviroAtlas platform. John also contributed as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where projects included water quality studies and lidar implementation for floodplain mapping. Earlier experiences include roles at the College of William and Mary, conducting GIS-based research and analyzing agricultural runoff. John holds a Master of Arts in Geography from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Environmental Science from William & Mary.
