Shannon Meroney is currently the Advocacy Chair at Impact Dyslexia, where Shannon leads grassroots advocacy efforts to improve reading intervention services for dyslexic students. Shannon also serves as the Manager Government Affairs at Texas Association of Health Underwriters and runs their own consulting firm, Meroney Public Affairs. With a background in law and extensive experience in government relations, Shannon has worked in various sectors including insurance, healthcare, and public policy.

National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals of Texas (NABIP-TX) is a statewide association and affiliated member of the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals. We have more than 1400 members across the state in 13 Chapters. We help businesses find their best health insurance benefits for their employees. We are a professional organization of over 1500 health insurance agents and insurance company representatives who join together to inform and protect the insurance consumer by enhancing the professional growth of its members and having a voice at the Texas Capitol. NABIP-TX has fifteen local chapters throughout the state including locations in: Austin, Coastal Bend, Dallas, East Texas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Heart of Texas, Houston, Lubbock, Panhandle, San Angelo, San Antonio, South Texas, Texoma and West Texas. NABIP represents nearly 20,000 professional health insurance agents and brokers who service the insurance needs of millions of Americans.
