Amy Lui is an experienced music educator and advocate, currently serving as a music teacher and Art Department Chair at John H. Francis Polytechnic High School since January 2019. In addition to teaching music technology and conducting instrumental ensembles, Amy contributes to the Asian American Collective, focusing on highlighting Asian American communities in the music industry and facilitating mentorship programs. As a Western Division Representative for the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), Amy supports music educators in composition and production while serving as Co-Chair of the Arts Advisory Council for the Los Angeles Unified School District, advocating for equitable arts education. Amy also acts as Treasurer for the Arts Education Committee at United Teachers Los Angeles, ensuring broad access to arts education. A saxophone and piano instructor since September 2008, Amy has held various leadership positions in music education organizations, holding multiple degrees in music, including a Master’s in Music Industry Administration from California State University, Northridge.
