Laura Reed is an experienced music educator and manager with a diverse background in teaching and music administration. Currently serving as the Professional Learning/Publications Manager for the National Association for Music Education since January 2023, Laura has also been a teacher with the Queen Creek Unified School District since June 2021 and has held teaching and orchestra director roles within the Gilbert Unified School District since July 2007, where enrollment in orchestra programs doubled at two high schools. Previously, Laura taught string classes in Franklin Special School District, managed editorial operations for the American String Teachers Association, founded and directed the North Central West Virginia Community Orchestra, and held communications management roles with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Laura holds a Master of Music in music education from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music/Journalism from the University of Cincinnati.

NAfME
The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) is a collaborative community that supports music educators and advocates for equitable access to music education. The only association that addresses all aspects of music education, NAfME, together with its affiliated state music education associations, advocates at the national, state, and local levels and provides resources and opportunities for teachers, students, parents, and administrators. Founded in 1907 and representing more than 53,000 members teaching millions of students, NAfME advances the music education profession and promotes lifelong experiences in music.
