Alena Palevitz

Associate Director, ISSS And IEM at NAFSA: Association of International Educators

Alena Palevitz currently serves as the Associate Director for International Student and Scholar Services at NAFSA: Association of International Educators, a role held since April 2018. Additionally, Alena has been working as a Library Assistant in Arlington County since May 2016. Prior experience includes various positions at American Councils for International Education, where Alena worked as a Program Officer for Teacher Programs and Secondary School Programs from 2010 to 2018, and an intern for the Legislative Fellows Program in 2010. Alena has also held roles as a Resident Director for the Intensive Summer Language Institutes Program and as an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instructor in China. Early career experiences include several internships at the Library of Congress. Alena holds education from Oberlin College and participated in a non-degree Mandarin Chinese program through the Associated Colleges in China.
