Silvio Giger

Silvio Giger's work experience includes various roles in the field of geology and geomechanics. From 2011 to present, they have worked at Nagra - Nationale Genossenschaft für die Lagerung radioaktiver Abfälle, where they have served as Section Head Geology since September 2022. Silvio previously held positions such as Section Head Hydrogeology & Geomechanics from October 2020 to February 2023, Project Manager Geomechanics from January 2016 to October 2020, and Project Leader Geology from May 2011 to December 2015. Prior to that, they worked at CSIRO as a Geologist/Research Officer from 2007 to May 2011. Silvio Giger's career began at the Australian National University, where they were a PhD student from 2004 to 2007.

Silvio Giger pursued their higher education in the field of Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences. Silvio obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, between 1998 and 2003. Later, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from The Australian National University, specializing in the same field, from 2004 to 2007.
