Matthew Hawes

Matthew Hawes is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the External Communications Manager at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) since December 2021. Previously, Matthew held the role of Press Secretary for the United States Senate from July 2016 to March 2021, where responsibilities included summarizing legislative content, writing press releases, editing op-eds for major publications, and managing media engagements. Prior to this, Matthew worked as a freelance writer and editor, contributing to various organizations, and served as Vice President of Programs at Campaign for Liberty, overseeing marketing and communications efforts. Matthew holds a Bachelor's degree in History from Pensacola Christian College.
