NAISDA is Australia’s leading First Nations performing arts training organisation and a Registered Training Organisation (RTO Code: 5639).

We provide nationally accredited training for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people aged 16 and over, who come from communities across Australia to live and learn at our residential campus on Darkinjung Country, on the NSW Central Coast.

Our curriculum is the only one of its kind in Australia, exclusively developed, written and delivered by NAISDA. It extends beyond studios and classrooms, offering real-world performance and production experiences in professional theatres, alongside industry placements with leading national arts companies.

At its core is a unique learning model that creates and celebrates Indigenous knowledges and wisdom, alongside a framework of arts education excellence.

Training is delivered from Certificate III to Advanced Diploma, with units including cultural dance, contemporary Indigenous dance, hip hop, ballet, dance film and music composition. A new Live Production course launches in 2026.

NAISDA is one of eight leading national arts training organisations in Australia, and the only First Nations organisation within the Federal Government’s ARTS8 network.

For almost 50 years, NAISDA has supported young people to grow as artists, leaders and storytellers. Our 90% course completion rate is nearly double the national average, reflecting the strength of our training and support.
