Matthew Schlamm

Matthew Schlamm has a diverse work experience. Matthew started their career as a Co-Founder of Flavey J's, a food truck franchise in South Africa. After successfully running the business for over a year, they sold it due to issues with the local municipality.

Matthew then worked at Freeway Fleet Systems Ltd as a Head of Application Implementations and Projects, where they managed projects with international logistics firms in the UK and Singapore. Matthew also worked as an Implementor and Consultant for the company.

Matthew later joined Afferent Software as a Scrum Master & Product Owner. Matthew was responsible for developing product marketing and business strategies, defining product strategies and life cycles, and leading various projects.

Matthew is currently the Co-Founder of Genesis CBD, a company that focuses on hemp cultivation in Africa. Through key partnerships and early licensing, the company pioneers the cultivation and distribution of hemp in Southern Africa.

Matthew's most recent role was as the Head of Operations at Naked, an insurance start-up. Matthew played a crucial role in starting the company and fixing the traditional insurance model by bringing fresh perspectives.

Matthew Schlamm completed their education at various institutions. In 2004, they began their academic journey at Hilton College, where they obtained an IEB Matriculation with a focus on Biology, Science, Art, Maths, Afrikaans, and English. Later, from 2009 to 2012, Matthew attended Rhodes University, earning a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Following this undergraduate program, in 2012-2013, they pursued a Post Graduate Degree in Entrepreneurship from the same institution. Matthew also holds additional certifications in Professional Scrum Product Owner 1 (PSPO1) and Professional Scrum Master 1 (PSM1) obtained in 2018 from Scrum.org.
