Simon Barbay

Simon Barbay currently serves as an Ingénieur systèmes at Nalys since November 2022, focusing on the Automatic Train Operation system for Alstom. Previously, Simon worked at Groupe Renault from April 2018 to November 2022 as a system designer in electric power steering, overseeing safety, regulatory, and innovation efforts for autonomous vehicle driving aids. Simon's experience includes leading R&D initiatives for joint development of a Steer-by-Wire prototype, coordinating with partners to align requirements and functional architecture. Earlier roles include a systems design intern and machine adjustment optimization intern, establishing a strong foundation in mechanical engineering and production. Simon holds degrees in Innovation in Design and Materials, Mechatronics, and Eco-Design from Polytech Orléans and a DUT in Mechanical Engineering and Production from IUT Le Mans.
