Sebastian Liska

Senior Scientist at Nanohmics

Sebastian Liska has a long and varied work experience. Sebastian started as the Founder and Manager of La Doña, a small restaurant serving pupusas, in 2002. In 2005, they became the Chief Operating Officer of Startrack, S.A., a start-up offering GPS-tracking services. That same year, they also became the Head Teaching and Laboratory Assistant at the Mechanical Engineering Department of Duke University. Sebastian then moved on to become an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Duke University in 2006. In 2009, they joined the Computational Flow Physics Group at Caltech as a Software Architect and Graduate Research Assistant. Sebastian was also Co-Advisor of an Undergraduate Research Fellow in Applied Math for the period of March 2015 to October 2015. Finally, in 2016, they became a Senior Scientist at Nanohmics.

Sebastian Liska's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Aeronautics from Caltech, which they obtained between 2009 and 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's Degree in Aeronautics from Caltech in 2009. Sebastian also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science, Physics from Duke University, obtained between 2004 and 2008. In addition, Liska has obtained seven Coursera Course Certificates in topics such as Regression Models, Statistical Inference, Exploratory Data Analysis, Getting and Cleaning Data, Reproducible Research, R Programming, and The Data Scientist's Toolbox, all obtained between August and October of 2016.
