Kiran Chintakayala has a wealth of experience in protein science and structural biology. Kiran began their career in 2009 as a Research Associate at the University of Nottingham, where they worked as a protein biochemist in a multidisciplinary project. In 2010, they moved to the University of Birmingham as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist, where they conducted functional characterisation of E. coli nucleoid protein and chaperone: CbpA (curved DNA binding protein). In 2013, Kiran joined Immunocore Limited as a Senior Scientist - Protein science (Phage Display), where they worked on multiple oncology targets as a protein engineering scientist, and had expertise in the lead discovery, purification, characterization and optimization of TCR-bispecific proteins. In 2020, they joined Evotec as a Senior Scientist - Structural Biology (Protein purification), and in 2021 they moved to NanoSyrinx as a Senior Scientist.
Kiran Chintakayala completed a BSc in Biochemistry from Andhra University between 1996 and 1999. Afterwards, they completed an MSc in Biochemistry from the same university between 1999 and 2001. Kiran then went on to obtain an MSc in Applied Bioscience (Biotechnology) from Nottingham Trent University between 2002 and 2003. Finally, they completed a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Nottingham between 2005 and 2009.
