Dr. Paul BC Kim has 20+ years of experience in Li ion battery industry.

Paul BC Kim is Senior Director of battery engineering at Nanotech Energy, Inc. He has been developing and commercialized the world first Li-ion battery platforms that are the high voltage LCO, Si / graphite anode battery for IT application and the stacking type prismatic battery for EV at Samsung SDI, South Korea. He also had developed or commercialized the Si anode material and all solid-state battery technology at Mitsubishi Chemical, Japan, National Institute for material (NIMS), Japan and Eocell, USA.

Paul has co-authored 50+ US and international patents issued and pending and 30+ papers in academic journals related to the nanotechnology or the advanced battery technology. He has led the battery development team or material development team to commercialize the 7 highest energy batteries with new chemistries or new battery structures first in the world for IT and EV application as well as contributed to commercialize the high capacity SCN anode at Samsung SDI for 13 years. He has received several awards of the Samsung Group technology award and two times SDI CEO awards for success of the new battery product developments.
