Tarvi Pillessaar

Tarvi Pillessaar has extensive work experience in site reliability engineering, specializing in managing infrastructure and services. Tarvi has worked for various companies, starting with WM-data in 2005 as a Database Developer. In 2006, they joined Playtech as an Oracle DBA, responsible for installations, upgrades, and backup and recovery of databases. In 2010, they worked at Skype as both a Senior System Engineer and a Senior Database Administrator. At Microsoft, Skype Division, starting in 2012, they became a Senior Engineering Service Engineer, managing online databases and developing automation software. From 2016 to 2017, they worked at Glia as a Senior Service Engineer. Tarvi then joined Starship Technologies in 2017 as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, managing infrastructure, developing automation software, and working with technologies such as Kubernetes, Kafka, and InfluxDB. In 2020, they joined SwissBorg, where they continued their role as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, managing infrastructure in AWS and assisting with various infrastructure and database-related problems. Currently, since 2022, Tarvi works at Nansen as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer.

Tarvi Pillessaar attended Hugo Treffner Gymnasium from 1999 to 2002. Tarvi then pursued higher education at the University of Tartu, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from 2002 to 2006.
