Charles Spellman Jr., PhD, PE, is a Principal Environmental Engineer at the Narragansett Bay Commission in Rhode Island since July 2022. Prior to this role, Spellman served as an Environmental Engineer at the same organization and gained valuable experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Rhode Island from January 2018 to July 2022. Additional experience includes an interim position as a Laboratory Technician and a Seasonal Intern at The Mattabassett District. Spellman's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Engineering and a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Rhode Island, along with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering from Saint Francis University. Spellman has also contributed to academic research and mentoring through various projects related to acid mine drainage and wastewater treatment.
