Brendan Spiegel

Brendan Spiegel has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Brendan co-founded Narrative.ly in 2012, a storytelling platform that focuses on in-depth non-fiction stories. As the Editorial Director, they managed the launch of the platform and supervised all editorial workflow. Brendan also launched Narratively Creative, a storytelling studio that provides premium content to brands, publishers, and nonprofits.

Before Narrative.ly, Brendan founded and served as the Editor and Publisher of Endless Simmer, an independent food website. Under their guidance, the website grew to over 300,000 monthly readers. Brendan wrote blog posts and oversaw a team of contributing writers. Additionally, they were responsible for site integration, promotion, and advertising.

Brendan has also worked as a freelance Writer and Editor since 2007, contributing articles to publications such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Wired. Brendan has expertise in travel, food, politics, and news. In addition to their editorial work, they have created content for various clients, including real estate firms, corporations, government agencies, and nonprofits.

Their previous experience includes working as a Food Critic and Restaurant Writer for Brooklyn Based from 2011 to 2016. Brendan also worked at Congressional Quarterly as an Editor/Reporter from 2005 to 2007. In this role, they produced web content, edited verticals and newsletters, and supervised a team of reporters. Brendan covered congressional hearings, political events, and elections, both local and national.

Before their venture into journalism, Brendan worked as an Associate Analyst at The Feldman Group. In this role, they provided editorial, research, and analytical assistance for political campaigns at various levels. Brendan compiled background research reports, analyzed data, and developed campaign strategies.

Brendan's career began with an internship at the U.S. House of Representatives, where they worked as an intern for U.S. Representative Jerrold Nadler. Brendan wrote press releases, speeches, and constituent correspondence, as well as assisting with administrative and clerical tasks.

Brendan Spiegel attended Beloit College from 1999 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Political Science.
