PHD Student NASA Harvest at NASA Harvest

Josef Wagner is currently a PhD student at NASA Harvest, focusing on in-season crop type mapping and crop nitrogen uptake estimation. Simultaneously, Josef serves as a part-time lecturer at Télécom Physique Strasbourg, guiding engineering students on projects related to automated detection of silos and the development of a system for assessing agricultural plot delineation quality. Additionally, Josef teaches geomatics and image processing courses at the Faculté de Géographie et d'Aménagement in Strasbourg. Previous experiences include roles as a doctoral student in remote sensing applied to agriculture at ICube Strasbourg and a geomatician at various organizations, where responsibilities involved analyzing crop yield variability and mowing event dates using satellite imagery. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in Earth Observation and Geomatics and a Bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of Strasbourg, along with a technical diploma in Nature Management and Protection.
