Danny Olivas

Danny Olivas is an accomplished engineer and former NASA astronaut who has significantly contributed to advancements in space flight and safety. Currently, they serve as a Chief Test Astronaut at Collins Aerospace, providing expertise in NASA's space suit development. With a rich background, Danny held various leadership roles, including Director of Engineering at Raytheon and Director of Space Initiatives at the University of Texas at El Paso. Their extensive experience also includes serving as a Mission Specialist at NASA, where they logged over 336 hours in space and led critical accident investigations. Danny earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering Materials Science from Rice University and holds multiple degrees in engineering from The University of Texas at El Paso and the University of Houston.
