David spent the first portion of his NASA career as a Principal Investigator and Project Scientist specializing in microbiology. He founded the Aerobiology Laboratory at NASA Ames Research Center. David was awarded a B.A. in Ecological & Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University in 2007 and a Ph.D. in Biology & Astrobiology from the University of Washington in 2012.
