Demitri Muna

Support Scientist, Chief Science Data Office

Demitri Muna is an accomplished data engineer and scientist with extensive experience in the fields of astrophysics and data science. Currently serving as a Support Scientist in the Chief Science Data Office at NASA, Demitri focuses on promoting open scientific practices related to space data. As CTO of the consulting firm Amalgamated Data Union Local 42, LLC, Demitri provides expertise in astroinformatics to enhance scientific research efficiency. Previous roles include Data Engineer Manager at Dascena, Computational Research Analyst at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, and various positions at prominent institutions such as the Sloan Digital Sky Survey and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Demitri holds a Ph.D. in Particle Astrophysics from The University of Sheffield, a Master's Degree in Physics and Astronomy from California State University-Northridge, and dual Bachelor's Degrees in Physics and Mathematics from Creighton University. Additionally, Demitri maintains an affiliation with The University of Texas at San Antonio.
