James Elliott

James Elliott is a Professor at the University of Sydney and the Academic Director at the Kolling Institute of Medical Research, where they focus on the pathophysiological mechanisms of pain following traumatic spinal injuries. They previously served as Acting Executive Director at the Kolling Institute and have held academic positions at Northwestern University and Regis University. A former professional baseball player, James transitioned into academia and research, earning a PhD from the University of Queensland. Currently, they are also a Non-Executive Director for the Survivors & Mates Support Network and an Advisor on the Board of Directors for Ho'ōla Nā Pua, as well as a member of NASA's Spine Working Group.
