Contract Flight Engineer On Nasa's Dc-8 Airborne Laboratory at NASA

Joe Proffitt is an experienced aviation professional with an extensive background in flight operations and training. Currently serving as a Flight Technical Training Instructor at ABX Air, Inc. since May 2011, Joe conducts systems training for Boeing 767 and 757 aircraft and holds the position of FAA DC-8 Training Center Evaluator and Designated Flight Engineer Examiner. In addition, Joe has been a Contract Flight Engineer for NASA's DC-8 Airborne Laboratory since February 2015. Previous roles at ABX Air, Inc. include Chief Pilot's Assistant and Flight Standards Flight Engineer, where Joe played a pivotal role in training and evaluating flight crews and implementing safety protocols. Joe's military experience includes serving as Command KC-10A Flight Engineer Functional Manager in the USAF, where responsibilities encompassed operational efficiency and training management. Joe earned a Master's degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle and a Bachelor's degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
