John Michael Carter

NASA NSTGRO Research Fellow - Atmospheric Reentry Diagnostics

John Michael Carter is a self-motivated Mechanical Engineering Ph.D. student at Purdue University in the Goldenstein Research Group. With a passion for Fluid Mechanics, Mathematics, and Thermodynamics, they are currently engaged in research and teaching while pursuing their doctorate. John has gained experience as a Design Mechanical Engineer Intern at BAE Systems and holds previous positions in research and as a lifeguard. They have also participated in study abroad programs focused on sustainable infrastructure and are set to undertake a fellowship with NASA focusing on Atmospheric Reentry Diagnostics. John aims to apply their theoretical knowledge and technical skills to tackle global engineering challenges.
