Michael Carlowicz

Michael Carlowicz is the Managing Editor for the Earth Science Division at NASA, a role held since 2022. Prior to this, they served as Managing Editor at the NASA Earth Observatory from 2010 to 2022, and worked in various capacities including Science Writer & Editor at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and Outreach Coordinator at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Michael has also contributed as an Instructor in nonfiction and science writing at Johns Hopkins University and held editorial positions at Discovery Communications, Inc. and the American Geophysical Union. They earned a BA from Georgetown University and an MA from The Johns Hopkins University, with additional training in copy editing from the Dow Jones Newspaper Fund.
