Michael Ciancone has extensive experience in various roles within the aerospace industry, particularly with NASA. Ciancone served as Executive Officer for the Payload Safety Review Panel from 1997 to 2006 and held multiple positions at NASA from 2006 to 2021, including Safety & Reliability Lead for the Orion project and S&MA Lead for the European Service Module. Additionally, Ciancone contributed to the American Astronautical Society as Chair of the History Committee from 2002 to 2010. Ciancone's educational background includes a BA in Psychology and a BS in Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, along with a study abroad program at the University of Leeds. Currently, Ciancone remains active as a member of the IAA History Committee since 1997.
