Michael O'Donnell

Assistant Chief Engineer, Gateway Program

Michael O'Donnell is an accomplished engineer currently serving as the Assistant Chief Engineer at NASA's Johnson Space Center. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Electrical Engineering and has contributed extensively to human spaceflight through various roles, including as a Structural Mechanics Engineer and Lead Engineer for Human Landing Systems Crew Structures. Michael's innovative work includes developing new thermal regulation systems for spacesuits and spacecraft, as well as coordinating engineering efforts for the Gateway Program. Additionally, Michael founded the Aero Society of Automotive Engineers during their time at university, fostering skills in design, build, and flight operations.
