Michelle Munk is a seasoned aerospace professional with extensive experience at NASA, currently serving as the Acting Chief Architect for the Space Technology Mission Directorate since May 2017. In this role, Michelle Munk functions as a senior strategist and advisor to align NASA's Space Technology investments with upcoming mission architectures. Additionally, Michelle Munk has held significant positions such as System Capability Lead for Entry, Descent and Landing, coordinating investment strategies and leading multi-Center teams to ensure the necessary skills and tools are maintained for future missions. Michelle Munk also serves as a Principal Investigator for the SCALPSS program at NASA Langley Research Center, advocating for technology initiatives for lunar missions, and previously contributed as the STMD Principal Technologist for EDL and as the Assistant Project Manager for the Mars Science Laboratory's MEDLI suite. Michelle Munk earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 1991.
