Mike Effinger has over 28 years of experience at NASA, serving as a Project Manager since January 1995 and previously as an Engineer. In the role of Project Manager, Mike built and leads the Microwave Structure Construction Capability team for the Moon to Mars Autonomous Construction Technology project, and has overseen multiple programs including the Segmented Mirror Technology Program and the Mars Variable Pressure Scanning Electron Microscope project. As an Engineer, Mike contributed to the Composite Crew Module project, conceived the "Flatbed" Lunar Lander design, and conducted critical operational and materials research. Mike’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering from the University of Kentucky, obtained in 1994.
