Paula Smith is a seasoned professional in aerospace engineering with extensive experience in safety and mission assurance. Currently serving as the Moon2Mars Safety & Mission Assurance and HLS Integration Lead at NASA since December 2020, Paula also leads Gateway HALO Integration efforts within Human Health and Performance. Prior to NASA, Paula worked at J&P Technologies from July 2013 to December 2020 as a Systems Engineer, providing cross-functional S&MA support for Exploration Systems Development. A career in aerospace began at Barrios Technology and included roles as Project Engineer at Lockheed Martin and Software Engineering Director at GB Tech, with foundational engineering work at Hernandez Engineering. Paula holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
