Robert Conway

Robert Conway serves as the Acting Director and Deputy Director of the NASA Safety Center, contributing to the safety and mission assurance for NASA’s programs since June 2020. With a robust background in safety management and engineering, Robert has held various roles including Manager of Quality Engineering at The Walt Disney Company, where oversight of safety for numerous attractions and facilities was a responsibility. Previous experience includes leadership positions in the U.S. Navy, such as Director of the School of Naval Aviation Safety and Assistant Chief of Staff for Safety with Commander Naval Air Forces. Robert's educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the United States Naval Academy, complemented by executive education from the Naval Postgraduate School. Additionally, Robert has served as an adjunct instructor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, teaching multiple courses focused on safety, engineering, and mathematics.
