Robert Emberson

Associate Program Manager - Disasters Application Area

Robert Emberson is an accomplished research scientist and educator with extensive experience in geosciences. Currently serving as an Associate Research Scientist at the University of Maryland Baltimore County since December 2021 and as an Associate Program Manager in the Disasters Application Area at NASA, Robert has previously contributed to projects at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center as a Visiting Scientist and as a NASA Postdoctoral Program Fellow. Additional experience includes roles as Associate Scientist at USRA and Junior Researcher at GFZ-Potsdam. Robert has also held editorial responsibilities as a Locum Associate Editor for Nature Geoscience and has written as a freelance science writer. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in Geomorphology from the University of Potsdam, where Robert graduated Summa Cum Laude. Currently, Robert is a member of the ISC Global Roster of Experts at the International Science Council.
