Ben Bolton, NEMAA, currently serves as the Senior Energy Programs Administrator for the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, where responsibilities include administering activities related to energy security and critical infrastructure. Throughout a diverse career, Ben has held significant roles such as Chair of the Energy Security Committee for the National Association of State Energy Officials, managing energy assurance initiatives, and serving on the Water & Wastewater Financing Board. With a background as an Environmental Scientist and extensive experience in environmental compliance across various sectors, Ben has contributed to important projects, including community air monitoring and enhancing emissions reduction programs. Education includes a BS in Biology and a BA in English from Birmingham-Southern College, alongside additional emergency management training.

NASEO is the only national non-profit association for the governor-designated energy officials from each of the 56 states and territories. Formed by the states in 1986, NASEO facilitates peer learning among state energy officials, serves as a resource for and about State Energy Offices, and advocates the interests of the State Energy Offices to Congress and federal agencies.
