Marion S. Gold is a seasoned professional in energy policy and environmental science, currently serving as a Senior Advisor at The Ad Hoc Group, Inc. and at NASEO, while also holding the position of President of the Board at Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships. Gold has been a Commissioner at the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission since July 2016 and previously served as Commissioner at the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources from January 2012 to July 2016. Gold's academic background includes a Bachelor's of Science in Natural Resources Science & Policy from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. in Environmental Science from the University of Rhode Island. Prior to these roles, Gold directed the URI Mallon Center from March 2005 to August 2012.

NASEO is the only national non-profit association for the governor-designated energy officials from each of the 56 states and territories. Formed by the states in 1986, NASEO facilitates peer learning among state energy officials, serves as a resource for and about State Energy Offices, and advocates the interests of the State Energy Offices to Congress and federal agencies.
