Jon Royal

Teaching Artist/actor/director at Nashville Children's Theatre

Jon Royal is an experienced teaching artist, director, and facilitator with a diverse background in theater education. Currently serving as a Teaching Artist and Director at Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles since February 2008, Jon Royal has been instrumental in guiding youth through the creation of original Shakespearean plays. Additionally, Jon Royal has maintained a freelance career since 2003 and has been a Teaching Artist, Actor, and Director at Nashville Children's Theatre since September 2000, focusing on drama instruction for children and youth. Involved with TPAC Education since January 2000, Jon Royal develops lessons to enhance students’ appreciation of the arts. Experience also includes directing and acting with Nashville Repertory Theatre since March 1997, and teaching and performing with The Nashville Shakespeare Festival from July 1998 to January 2017, where Jon Royal led workshops for participants of all ages. Jon Royal holds a B.S. in Speech and Theatre from Middle Tennessee State University.
