Nashville Zoo
Brittany Canfield is a dedicated primate care professional with extensive experience in the field of animal husbandry and wildlife management. Currently serving as Primate Supervisor at Nashville Zoo since March 2022, Brittany previously held various roles at Duke Lemur Center from October 2015 to February 2022, including Primate Technician I Tier III, Acting Primate Lead Technician II, and multiple levels of Primate Technician I. Prior to this, Brittany gained valuable experience as a Husbandry Intern at Duke Lemur Center and as an Exotic Cat Intern at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, an organization focused on providing refuge for rescued exotic cats. Brittany holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from North Carolina State University, earned between 2010 and 2013.

Nashville Zoo at Grassmere is a 188-acre institution accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) whose mission is to inspire a culture of understanding and discovery of our natural world through conservation, innovation and leadership. Located in the heart of Nashville, the zoo has an extensive animal collection within its current 88 acres of developed exhibits. The Zoo attracts more than one million visitors annually as well as serving a diverse community through outreach programs within greater Nashville and mid-Tennessee.
