Elizabeth Anne Wood is a seasoned educator and consultant with extensive experience in sociology and organizational development. Serving as a Professor of Sociology at Nassau Community College since September 2000, Elizabeth teaches courses covering various aspects of sociology while also engaging in student advisement and shared governance. In addition to academic responsibilities, Elizabeth has held leadership roles including Acting Dean of Academic Affairs and Chairperson of the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work. As the Principal Consultant at Elizabeth Wood Consulting since September 2015, Elizabeth specializes in transitions coaching for individuals and organizations. Furthermore, in a volunteer capacity as Senior Strategist at the Woodhull Freedom Foundation since September 2009, Elizabeth contributes to strategic planning, relationship building, program assessment, and communication initiatives. Elizabeth holds a PhD in Sociology from Brandeis University and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Studies from Bradford College.
