Alasdair Smith

Alasdair Smith is an accomplished Staff Product Engineer at Natcap since August 2024, with a strong engineering background developed through various roles. Prior to this, Alasdair served as Engineering Manager at Overleaf from February 2016 to August 2024, transitioning from an individual contributor to leading a seven-member engineering team and focusing on technical strategy. Alasdair also contributed as a Senior Engineer at Overleaf, successfully managing the integration of products following the ShareLaTeX acquisition. Earlier experience includes a Web Developer position at Radweb, where Alasdair designed and developed web applications using Backbone. Alasdair holds a degree in Web Technologies from the University of Portsmouth and previously studied Biochemistry at Cardiff University.
