Kirk S. has a strong and extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Kirk started their career as a Director at Slidell Memorial Hospital in 1984 and stayed there for 10 years. Kirk then joined Baptist Memorial Health Care as an Associate Administrator for 5 years before returning to Slidell Memorial Hospital as the COO and Interim CEO. In 2001, Kirk became the President of Gulf States Health Services and LTHM, where they led a team that expanded the company from 4 to 14 consolidated free standing LTACH and Acute Rehab hospitals. Kirk also took over as the CEO of Renaissance Healthcare, a 5-hospital acute specialty hospital system, and successfully brought the company out of bankruptcy. In 2008, they became the President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Health Management, LLC. Kirk's most recent position is as the Chief Executive Officer of Oakdale Community Hospital, where they served from 2011 to 2013 before joining Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in the same role.

Kirk S. pursued their first diploma in Nursing at Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans from 1978 to 1981. Continuing their education, they completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services at the University of St. Francis from 1989 to 1991. Afterwards, they attended Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine for their Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, specializing in Finance and Organizational Design, from 1992 to 1994. At Tulane University, they also obtained an MHA (Master of Healthcare Administration) degree focusing on Health/Health Care Administration/Management during the same period.
