Jim Piatt

Jim Piatt is a seasoned professional in customs and border security, serving as President of the National US Customs Museum Foundation since April 2018, focused on preserving US Customs history. With extensive experience in national security, Jim serves as a National Security Senior Principal Leader at General Dynamics Information Technology and as a trainer for the State Department's Anti-Terrorism and EXBS Programs through DECO, LINXX, PAE & CTP. Jim has contributed as a Senior Advisor on customs issues for Nathan Associates and previously advised Kuwait Customs on modernization efforts while at the US Customs Service. Jim's career in customs spans nearly four decades, beginning with the U.S. Customs Service in 1963, culminating as a Chief of Customs Advisory Team in Kuwait until retirement in 2001. Jim holds an educational background from California State University, Los Angeles from 1970 to 1973.
