Tom DeSmet

Tom De Smet has extensive experience in leadership roles within the cultural and archival sectors. Currently serving as Directeur Archieven, Dienstverlening & Innovatie at Nationaal Archief since October 2021, Tom previously held the position of Managing Director at Beeld en Geluid Den Haag. Tom has also contributed to various organizations including FIAT/IFTA, KVAN, and Digitaal Erfgoed Nederland in executive and supervisory roles. Educational qualifications include a General Management Program from INSEAD and an MSc in Occupational and Organisational Psychology from the University of Surrey. Tom's career demonstrates a strong commitment to the preservation of cultural heritage and innovation in digital archiving.
