Kasey White

Director- Board On Atmospheric Sciences And Climate And Polar Research Board at National Academy of Sciences

Kasey White serves as the Director of Climate Policy at The Niskanen Center since September 2023. Previously, Kasey held the position of Director for Geoscience Policy at the Geological Society of America from December 2011 to August 2023, leading initiatives to influence policy for 20,000 members through strategic coalitions and communication of policy developments. Kasey also worked as a Project Director at the American Association for the Advancement of Science from 2005 to December 2011, focusing on climate change policy and the application of science in policymaking. Prior roles include Director of Public Affairs at Joint Oceanographic Institutions, Program Specialist at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Technical Support Unit, and Program Associate at the American Geological Institute. Academic credentials include a BA in Environmental Science and Policy from Duke University, an MA in Environmental Sciences from The Johns Hopkins University, and an Executive Certificate in Transformational Leadership from Georgetown University. Kasey's co-editorship of a report with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change contributed to a Nobel Peace Prize in 2007.
