Brent Whitaker MS, DVM is a seasoned veterinarian with extensive experience in animal science and welfare. Currently serving as Co-Owner and Veterinarian at ZooQuatic Laboratory LLC since October 2018, Brent offers specialized testing services for aquatic environments. As a Research Associate and Veterinarian at the University of Maryland's Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology since December 2017, Brent contributes to marine research initiatives. Brent's long-standing role at the National Aquarium since September 1989 includes serving as Senior Vice President of Animal Science and Welfare, overseeing animal welfare programs, and managing the electronic record data keeping system, Tracks. Additionally, Brent held the position of President of the Board of Directors at the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter from July 2014 to July 2016. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Colorado College.
