Sean Beattie has extensive experience in philanthropy and institutional giving. Sean has worked at the National Aquarium since 2013, starting as a Grants Manager and eventually becoming the Vice President of Institutional Giving and then the Vice President of Philanthropy. In these roles, they have been responsible for building partnerships with individuals, foundations, corporations, and government agencies to generate contributed revenue and support the Aquarium's programs and operations. Prior to their time at the National Aquarium, Sean worked at CENTERSTAGE, where they served as a Grants Manager and later as a Ticketing Services Manager.
Sean Beattie completed their education at three different institutions. In 1998, they received a Bachelor of Music degree in Guitar Performance from Arizona State University. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Writing, General, which they earned from The Johns Hopkins University between 2000 and 2003. Most recently, in 2017, Sean attended the University of Pennsylvania's School of Social Policy and Practice for an Executive Certificate in Social Impact Strategy.
