Gabriel Smith currently serves as a Legislative Affairs Analyst at the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) since March 2023. Previously, Gabriel held positions as a Legislative Affairs Fellow at Crossroads Strategies, a Health Policy Fellow at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, and a Legislative Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives. Additional experience includes working as a Senior Associate for Learning and Dissemination at the Community Action Partnership - National Office and as a Program Associate at the Southern Poverty Law Center. Earlier roles include serving as a Field Organizer for the Florida Democratic Party and interning with the U.S. House of Representatives through the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. Gabriel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Tuskegee University and a Master’s Degree in Modern US History, focusing on Civil/Human Rights Movements and American Slavery from Auburn University.
