Alexia Smokler

Alexia Smokler is the Director of Fair Housing Policy & Programs at the National Association of REALTORS® since January 2021, focusing on civil rights policy and federal advocacy to address racial and ethnic homeownership disparities. Smokler previously served as a Public Policy Consultant from 2015 to January 2021, overseeing civil rights program implementations. Early career experience includes roles as a Program Analyst at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, where initiatives for language access were led, and as a Presidential Management Fellow focused on housing discrimination. Additional past positions involved legal and legislative work, including stints at a law firm and with congressional offices. Smokler holds a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, an MPA from Princeton University, and a BA in Government from Smith College.
