Kathy Sullivan currently serves on the President’s Council of Advisers on Science and Technology (PCAST) at The White House since September 2021. Additionally, Kathy is a Senior Fellow at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies and serves on the advisory board of Terra Alpha Investments, both positions held since 2017. Kathy holds directorship roles at International Paper and is a member of the Board of Trustees for the National Audubon Society, as well as being a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Furthermore, Kathy acts as Ambassador-at-Large for the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum and has been a member of the National Academy of Engineering since 2016. Past roles include serving as NOAA Administrator and Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere from 2011 to 2017. Kathy holds a PhD in Oceanography from Dalhousie University and a B.S. in Earth Sciences from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
