Richard Gibbons

Richard Gibbons is an experienced conservation professional currently serving as the Director of Conservation for Texas at the National Audubon Society since August 2023. Prior to this role, Richard worked as the Gulf Coastal Program Manager at the American Bird Conservancy from January 2022 to August 2023. Richard also held the position of Conservation Director at Houston Audubon for a decade, from January 2012 to January 2022. Earlier in Richard's career, a role as Coordinator of the Louisiana Bird Resource Center at Louisiana State University lasted from July 2005 to April 2012. Richard earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University, completing the degree in 2012.
