Afroza Khatoon

Afroza Khatoon, CAMS has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Afroza currently holds the position of Senior Vice President at National Bank Limited since November 2023. Previously, they served as Vice President & Deputy CAMLCO and Head Of AML & CFT Division at Standard Bank Limited from August 2021 to November 2023. Afroza also held various roles at Bank Asia Limited, including First Vice President & Deputy Head of AML & CFT Division, First Vice President, First Vice President & DCAMLCO and Head of AML & CFT Division, Assistant Vice President & Operation Head, First Assistant Vice President, SEO, and EO, during the period from 2007 to 2021. Afroza started their career at Pubali Bank Ltd. as a Senior Officer in June 2000, where they worked until July 2007.

Afroza Khatoon, CAMS, holds a Masters of Social Science degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka, which they obtained from 1996 to 1997. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka from 1994 to 1996. Afroza also has a Higher Secondary Certificate Examination qualification in Humanities/Humanistic Studies from Viqarunnisa Noon College, which they acquired between 1991 and 1993. Afroza Khatoon's education started with a Secondary School Certificate Examination in Humanities/Humanistic Studies from Motijheel Govt Girls High School, which they completed from 1985 to 1991. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Certified AML Specialist from ACAMS in 2017 and ICA Associate Membership from the International Compliance Association in September 2022. Recently, they are pursuing a certification in Preventing Online Child Exploitation with Financial Intelligence: An Overview from ACAMS, which they expect to complete in 2023.
