Elena Ana Cernat

Independent Non-Executive Board Member at National Bank of Greece

Ms. Elena Ana Cernat was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of NBG in July 2019.

Ms. Cernat is a highly experienced banker, having held a number of senior executive and non-executive positions during her career, with a focus on development issues business and innovation. He has significant experience in retail banking, new business development as well as digital and multi-channel media strategies.

Ms. Cernat, in the past, held the position of a member of the Board of Directors of Euroline Retail Services (a member of the Eurobank Group) and currently holds the position of executive member ( CEO ) of the Board of Directors of Alior Bank Warsaw, Bucharest Branch, while he is a member of the Board of Directors of Yoga Vidya Romania.

He holds a BA in Philology, Applied Modern Languages ​​from Babes-Bolyai University, Romania, an MBA, Romanian-Canadian MBA Program Certificate from the Bucharest School of Management, as well as various certifications including a Certification in Banking Marketing and has been approved by Central Bank of Romania (BNR) in matters of Credit, Risk Management and Capital.
